Not only accidents at work are covered by statutory accident insurance. Accidents at work can happen in many areas of everyday life, and accidents at school or kindergarten are also "accidents at work". Accidents while travelling are also covered by insurance. This applies equally to accidents while carrying out voluntary work, accidents while caring for a close relative at home or while providing assistance after a road accident.
Mr Hirschberger and Dr Riediger have acquired the necessary qualifications for the treatment of occupational accidents as part of their training as a specialist in surgery or as a specialist in trauma surgery and orthopaedics and several years of additional training as a specialised trauma surgeon. In addition to this recognition as a D-Arzt, our practice also fulfils the legal requirements for the facilities of a D-Arzt practice. Among other things, we have our own Operating theatres and a digital X-ray system.

The cost bearers for the treatment of accidents at work (the industrial employers' liability insurance associations and the public sector accident insurance institutions) offer their insured persons comprehensive benefits for medical treatment, rehabilitation and, if applicable, financial compensation. In order to be able to claim these benefits, the accident victim must consult a doctor authorised to provide medical treatment after an accident at work, commuting accident, school accident or kindergarten accident.
It is important for the patient to report all accidents at work and to know that only the transit doctor (D-Arzt) is authorised to treat these accidents.
