After completing my surgical training in the clinics of the Main-Taunus-Kreis Bad Soden and Hofheim, I was recognised as a specialist in surgery in 1991. I then worked for a year in the Department of Vascular and Thoracic Surgery at the Nordwest Hospital in Frankfurt before moving back to the clinics in the Main-Taunus district, where I gained an additional qualification in visceral surgery.

In 1994, I moved to the Clinic for Plastic, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery, where, under the direction of Prof Tizian, I obtained the additional qualification in hand surgery in 1997 and the sub-speciality qualification in plastic surgery in 1999.

In 1998 I was appointed senior physician at the clinic, and in 2000 I was appointed senior consultant and permanent deputy to the head physician.

From 2013 to 2014, I was initially acting head of the clinic and was appointed head physician in 2015. From 2015 to 2023, I headed the Clinic for Plastic, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery at the Main-Taunus-Kreis clinics as Chief Physician and ended my clinical work here when I reached retirement age.

However, the fascination of hand surgery with ever new challenges and the rapid development of hand surgery techniques and microsurgical possibilities did not let go of me, so that I continued my professional activity in the outpatient sector at the Main-Taunus Surgery Centre, where I continue to take great pleasure in the constantly growing possibilities of hand surgery and plastic surgery diagnostics and therapy.

I am particularly interested in the entire range of elective and emergency surgery. Hand surgery and in plastic reconstructive surgery, e.g. in the plastic surgery treatment of the rapidly increasing number of tumour diseases of the body surface and face.
