The Plastic surgery and Aesthetic surgery is not only a profession that I love very much, it is also a vocation for me. This speciality covers a broad surgical spectrum in which I now have many years of extensive experience and comprehensive knowledge - and still continue my training every day. And yet, each of us prefers to practise certain activities more than others, each of us has his or her own special focus. For example, my personal passion lies in facial surgery with a focus on blepharoplasty and facelifts, in aesthetic breast surgery and in Hand surgery including microsurgery.
In a way, this has also realised a childhood dream. After leaving school in Málaga, Spain, I actually wanted to become a visual artist. I had always been fascinated by painting and sculpture. And art and aesthetics have stayed with me ever since. However, my second passion - my love of the natural sciences - then gained the "upper hand", so I ended up studying human medicine at the University of Málaga and completed my degree at the Free University in Berlin. During my studies, I was also able to gain very valuable experience in clinics in the USA and Spain.
After gaining my licence to practise, I began my training as a plastic and aesthetic surgeon in 1991 with Prof. Dr Tizian, the head physician at the Clinic for Plastic, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery at the Main-Taunus Clinics. In the end, I was able to fulfil my desire to combine my profession with my great interest in art. In the meantime (1993), after successfully completing my doctorate at the University Hospital Berlin-Steglitz under general surgeon Prof Dr Karavias, I worked from 1995 to 1998 as a junior doctor at the Cologne-Porz Hospital in the Department of General, Vascular and Trauma Surgery under head physician Prof Dr Horsch in order to broaden my spectrum. During this time, I also received broad training in intensive care medicine and worked as an emergency doctor.
The love for Plastic surgery and Aesthetic surgery However, even after these valuable experiences, my passion for plastic surgery remained unbroken and so I returned to Hofheim in 1998 to work in the Department of Plastic, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery. Following my specialist examination in plastic and aesthetic surgery in 2000, I finally took up the position of senior consultant there in 2001. My specialist examination in hand surgery followed in 2003 and I continued my work as a senior consultant between 2007 and 2011 under Prof. Titian's successor, the new head physician Prof. Dr Sauerbier.
With the entry into the surgical Specialist practice chirurgie-maintaunus the most exciting part of my professional life has almost begun. The daily collaboration with my colleagues from almost all sub-disciplines of surgery, the support of patients from the first presentation to the successful completion of treatment and the management and responsibility for a small company cannot naturally be offered by a clinic - regardless of its size. But this is precisely the challenge for me, which I enjoy taking on every day.

My two operations (thumb saddle and finger metacarpophalangeal joint) were about six months ago. In my opinion, it was a very delicate operation, particularly with regard to the middle joint of the index finger. The joint was already very badly damaged and there was also a severe axial deviation. A stiffening (fixed with wires) was carried out in an optimal position so that I only have to experience very few restrictions. Postoperatively, I would like to thank Dr Hondyk thank you. My pain in both joints is now significantly less or pain-free. The recommendations from Dr Hondyk after the operation were very important. Rest the affected joints for 4-6 weeks and be patient. Then physiotherapy with special finger exercises. I was prescribed special orthoses, which were also very helpful. I came on the recommendation of another patient, to Dr Hondykwho had her upper eyelids done there 15 years ago and the result still looked good. I think it's always good to have someone in front of you whose results you can see in reality rather than pictures on the internet, which can often be falsified. My operation was 4 weeks ago and after just one week I was able to work normally without looking swollen or discoloured. There was still some colour in the lower eyelid, but I was able to remove it easily. After a week you are ready for daylight when the stitches and plasters are removed. I only had pain on the day of the operation, but the next day I just looked worse than I did. I was told to stay at home for a week because of the discolouration and I didn't have to take any painkillers.
